smashing the patriarchy is for boys too, or: why I hate buzzfeed articles about lumbersexuals

HELLO FRIENDS.

It has been an arduous past couple of months. Law school was crazy, my sister was in the hospital, and then finals happened. Hence the blog I created for the purpose of procrastination ironically had to take a backseat to all the shit in my life. But, luckily for you, I have returned, and have lots of thoughts, feelings, and the free time to share them with you all. Thank you to all that have been viewing my blog in my absence, I checked my stats today and they’ve remained decent!

SO.

My rant today stems from a Buzzfeed article I saw a few weeks ago. Link here. The title of this article is “13 Reasons You Should Be Dating A Lumbersexual Right Now.” If you are very, very far removed from all reality and do not know what a lumbersexual is, according to Urban Dictionary, such a human is a “metro-sexual [male] who has the need to hold on to some outdoor based rugged-ness, thus opting to keep a finely trimmed beard.” Or, “a sexy man who dresses in denim, leather, and flannel, and has a ruggedly sensual beard.”
