stay ugly: a small fit about the female beauty industry in america

I want to start this fit off by saying a few things: If you are a woman, and you like wearing lipstick, I am not angry at you. If you are a woman, and you like how your legs feel after you shave, I am not angry at you. If you are a woman, and you want tiny pores and hate having an oily face, I am not angry at you. The anger you’ll feel coming through this post is directed towards beauty and cosmetic companies. Towards their ad campaigns. The anger I hold is towards those who try to make money off of my insecurities – and now the new movement to make money off of my newfound empowerment. Not you. Also I like eyeliner, painting my nails, and sometimes shaving my armpits, plucking my unibrow, and also using Trader Joe’s lavender salt scrub BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE AN ANGEL BABY.
